Silver rate evolution

According to the last past month, we did understood that the silver rate is not following anymore the US dollars rate. We are producer of Silver Jewelry for wholesale and we are particularly aware to this fluctuation. Effectively, that rate has a direct impact in our business, principally for the wholesale.  And more and more we need to justify to our clients about our price politic. Actually we still hope that the rate will find a real stability soon, to allow us to fix our prices for Wholesale. Some of our friend from the jewelry sector start to complete their offer with stainless or gold/silver/rhodium plated. For our part we will now start to offer some collection mixed with silver and leather to first react in the market and follow some new collection with other materials. By this way we plan to reduce the impact of the silver rate in a part of our collection.

For the future, it is still very hard to guess that evolution because the jewelry is just a small part of the silver production which is use for a big part in industrial applications.

The crisis and the financial investment have been disturbed the global market of the jewelry and now some analyst are not afraid to talk about a revaluation of the precious metals.

The way of the inspiration

My name is Laurent Boireau, silver jewelry designer and owner of the Brand LILUNA which is starting to grow up in Asia.

According to the subject of this article, I will voluntary talk especially about our company and the way we are using to create our design.

 For my part, there are 2 different way, the first one is to create a piece of silver jewelry around one or few stones. In that situation, we need first to listen and understand the needs of the clients and our creation will follow the idea of the client. Our task in that case is first to listen and understand the limitation we have in that creation. Next we will do the modeling of the piece on paper first for validation with the client. After this point all our team will meet to validate the best way to access to the result. Some designs are totally handmade, but some limit can be passed by using the casting. By that way, almost everything is possible and the work with the wax will bring the design step by step to the ultimate result: the final piece of jewelry.

The second part is the creation of the new design without any limitation.
In that second way, the designer will take inspiration often about his own environment.
I remember now the creation of one model with one of my employee RINI. This history started one Sunday in one of the Bali Island beach. I was looking the sea and decided to put my foot in the water to refresh me. Suddenly the vision of the infinity of the ocean became access to a small part of this salt water. And at this moment I see something that I used to see many times in my life, but that time was different because I spontaneously knew that this small sequence will give me something that I could materialize in jewelry. This is a strange sensation, but it is like if suddenly I found The IDEA from the ripple of the water, the pure and elegant movement of the water. The next day, I had a meeting with RINI to organize the beginning of this new creation. According to the design in project, the unique way to materialize it was by using wax. We can understand that the conception of a new design is the work and passion of a whole team. We can’t omit to talk about every person which is giving his hand to a global conception.

The nature is a beautiful and inexhaustible source of inspiration, maybe just to remember us that the nature is just spectacular and awesome.
